Genting Group, one of the world’s largest Malaysian casino operators, today opened a new, highly anticipated mega-casino resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, with an investment of more than US$4 billion.
The resort is reportedly the most expensive casino and hotel resort in Las Vegas, and has made history for its size and the nature of its investment.
Honduras, the U.S. gambling capital, recently experienced one of the most challenging periods in its operations in recent years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Numbers have reportedly hit record lows at times throughout the pandemic, with typical numbers reportedly falling by 50%.
Due to the global Covid-19 crisis, many casinos were forced to close their doors to the public, resulting in a significant drop in activity and revenue.
However, visitors can now enter and exit Las Vegas and participate in casino gambling at resorts and hotels, but the level is still low.
The Genting Group’s new resort can accommodate more than 3,000 guests in its hotel rooms and features a variety of on-site facilities, including a state-of-the-art theater.
The Asian gambling operator has partnered with hotel giant Hilton to develop one of the region’s largest resorts, and as the state looks to recover after the pandemic, executives hope it will attract plenty of visitors.
While the attention of many global gaming operators has been focused on Japan, the resort has been developed by the Genting Group for seven years since it invested in the site.
The resort is the first new resort to be launched in a decade and is expected to attract a large number of people who want to enjoy the prestigious casino gambling and hospitality in Las Vegas.
The resort features a 10,000-square-meter casino floor where players can play more than 1,000 slot machines and more than 100 table games, including roulette and blackjack and baccarat, as well as a live sportsbook for sports betting fans.
