The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said it voted unanimously Wednesday to issue a Class 4 casino license at the former Lowe’s in Shippensburg Township’s Shippens Town Center.
The Class 4 slot machine license allows for 300 to 750 slot machines. Licensee Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment, Inc can also apply for up to 30 table games at an additional cost of $2.5 million, with the ability to add 10 more table games after its first year of operation.
According to information submitted to the Gaming Control Board, Parx Casino Shippensburg will offer the following services at the time of opening.
- 500 slot machines.
- Electronic board game.
- Restaurant and sports bar facilities.
The casino is expected to create 175 construction jobs.
It aims to be open for business by the end of 2022. When that happens, it expects to have more than 125 full-time jobs.
